What access do we give Control?
Control reads your books through each system’s official API, read-only by default; write-back, if you turn it on, posts only drafts an Owner or Admin approved. Your ledger stays the book of record. Some providers, QuickBooks and Fortnox among them, grant a broader permission set than Control uses.
Who sets it up?
The Control team does, with you: the connections, the chart of accounts mapping and the first data check. Most companies go from first call to live data in under two hours. Inven connected its sources and ran the first automated sync into its existing models in hours.
How often does the data sync?
Control’s scheduled syncs keep each connection current, at least daily, and you can trigger a refresh on demand. Backdated entries and restatements are detected and synced again automatically.
What if our accounting system is not listed?
If your system is not listed, tell us which one each entity runs. A connector we would build anyway, we build for your group at no extra cost, and other systems come in as a file export through an AI client over MCP, in batches you approve.
Does Control.dev have an API?
Yes. Every plan includes Control.dev’s MCP server, which gives AI clients the consolidated group, from the statements down to the transactions, with each user’s Control permissions. Parquet snapshots for a data warehouse, and Excel and Google Sheets outputs that keep workbooks in sync, are Enterprise features: tell us what your warehouse or workbook needs.
