The ledgers you already run, as one group

Consolidation software that leaves each entity on its own accounting system. Control maps every entity to one group chart of accounts, translates every currency and shows the eliminations in a column of their own. Click any group figure to see the entries behind it.

Singa runs three entities in different systems and different currencies, and Control brings them together in one consolidated group view. Its group P&L for the annual report was ready with the new accounting entries, without an ERP project.

The group close

What the spreadsheet did by hand, on every sync

Each sync brings the entity books in. The mapping, the eliminations and the translation run on them, so the group view follows the ledgers.

01

Your group chart, drafted for you

Control generates a first group chart of accounts from your entities’ accounts and proposes the mapping. Your team reviews it. New local accounts show as unmapped after the next sync, so nothing slips into the group total unseen.

Change a mapping and every report on that group account follows. There is no history view of past mapping states yet. Cost-centre reporting for industrial groups reads the same group tree by function and cost centre.

  • Many local accounts to one group account
  • Local cost centres and projects mapped to one group tree
  • One shared proposal when new accounts need new group accounts
02

Eliminations in a column of their own

Intragroup revenue and costs come out of the group view. A rule eliminates an entity or group account from a start date. A manual entry handles the one-off. The Eliminations column sits between the entities and the group total, so a one-sided entry shows before the board sees it.

Each elimination is an entry you can open, so your auditor follows it like any other posting. Buying companies? Buy-and-build group reporting starts an elimination rule on the acquisition date.

  • Rules by entity account or group account, from a start date
  • Manual entries for one-off eliminations and reclassifications
  • Eliminations reviewed apart from source and CTA rows
03

Every currency in the group currency

Pick the group currency and Control translates each entity from its own. Balances use the current rate and activity the period rate by default. Change the rule by account type, or make an exception for one account.

  • Rate type by account type, with account-level exceptions
  • Monthly rate overrides for company-approved rates
Advanced

CTA and group entries, in plain view

The adjustments that usually live in a side spreadsheet stay in the group view, each on its own line and each open to its entries.

04

CTA that keeps the group balance sheet balanced

Balances and activity translate at different rates, so a translated balance sheet can stop balancing. Control calculates the cumulative translation adjustment for every month and posts it to equity, split into Currency CTA and Elimination CTA.

  • Currency CTA and Elimination CTA, each to the equity account you choose
  • Calculated for every month, stored as monthly movements
  • Recalculated when rates or rate settings change
05

Group entries for what the ledgers do not hold

Post consolidation-only entries straight to the group chart of accounts, in the group currency, with an optional group dimension.

  • Entries on group accounts in the group currency
  • Optional group dimension and item on each entry

Questions

What group controllers ask before they connect

Ask us about your setup
What is financial consolidation?

Financial consolidation combines the books of every entity in a group into one set of group statements: each entity’s local accounts map to one group chart, intragroup activity is eliminated and every currency is translated into the group currency, with CTA. Control does this on every sync, from the ledgers your entities already run, and every group figure opens to its entries.

Do our entities need to use the same accounting system?

No. In Control, each entity connects its own system, from Netvisor and Procountor to Xero and QuickBooks, and maps to the same group chart. See which systems connect, and what comes in from each, on integrations.

Do eliminations change the entity books?

No. Control’s elimination rules and manual entries change the group view only. They do not edit or delete source transactions, and they never post back to an entity’s accounting system.

How are partially owned subsidiaries handled?

Control consolidates the connected entities in full. Minority interest presentation is handled with group-level manual entries, not automated ownership-percentage calculations.

Can we add entities later?

Yes. A new entity connects its own system and maps to the same group chart in Control, so the reports already in use pick it up without a rebuild.
